In the first week of January COVID infections in the Austin schools increased over 10 times; going from 15 to over 150 infections.
C.A.S.E. is a program we believe is vital to bringing up children as God intends. We also believe it is our responsibility to keep your children safe.
Due to the major increase of infections we have decided to postpone all CASE functions for one month. At that time we will re-evaluate what we can and should do.
This will include the swimming
event at the YMCA on January 22,
which could be rescheduled.
Thank you for your understanding and support. We pray God's blessings on you and all in your house.
Pastor James.
The faithful education of our children is the highest and most important thing in which we should be employed.
Martin Luther wrote:
It is seldom recognized how very necessary it is to devote serious attention to the young. If we want capable and qualified people for both the civil and the spiritual realms, we really must spare no effort, time, and expense in teaching and educating our children to serve God and the world. We must not think only of their physical needs. God can provide all for them without our help, as indeed God does daily, but God has given us children and entrusted them to us precisely so that we may raise them according to God’s will; otherwise, God would have no need of fathers and mothers.
Therefore let all people know that it is their chief duty, at the risk of losing Divine grace, first to bring up their children in the fear and knowledge of God, and, then have them engage in formal study and learn so that they may be of service wherever they are needed. If this were done, God would also bless us richly and give us grace so they might be trained and would be a credit to the nation and its people. We would also have good, capable citizens, virtuous women, who, as good managers of the household [Titus 2:5], would faithfully raise upright children.
Think what deadly harm you do when you are negligent and fail to bring up your children to be useful and godly. You bring upon yourself sin and wrath, thus earning hell by the way you have reared your own children, no matter how holy and upright you may be otherwise. Because the fourth commandment is neglected, God also terribly punishes the world; hence there is no longer any discipline, government, or peace. We all complain about this situation, but we fail to see that it is our own fault. We have unruly and disobedient people because of how we raise them.
