Studying God’s Word is the way to get to know the God who loves you and has saved you. To that end we have many opportunities to dig deeper into His Word and learn of His love for us. All are welcome. No biblical knowledge is required. Especially for visitors there are no direct questions or expectations that you will bring anything but a desire to learn with us.
Lectionary Readings. What is that?! Each week there are three readings from the Bible in the worship service. The message is based on those readings and how we can apply God’s Word to real world life. This class digs a little deeper into those Bible lessons and give those who attend a bit more insight into the pastor’s goals and ideas for that message.
Women’s Bible study. The women’s Bible study on Tuesday afternoon is beginning a new study. We will be looking at a verse by verse study of the book of Amos, one of the minor prophets. Amos was a contemporary of Hosea and Isaiah.
CASE (Christian After School Education) This is a Bible study directed at children ages 5-10 though anyone may attend. Simple Bible lessons used to teach important Christian principles and why they are important to us as we grow into faithful adults.
Confirmation Class. This is a class directed at children ages 11-15. CASE is a wonderful way to get ready for Confirmation. Here the pastor takes each part of Luther’s Small Catechism and helps students see that the Bible, the Hymnal and all those other “dusty” books really are useful and helpful in dealing with real life as we live and grow in this world.
Crossways is a Bible study that works it's way through the entire Bible in about two years.
Men's Bible Study How is it that the Gentile Christians in Galatia were on their way to deserting Christ? What does it mean when Law and Gospel are mingled? Gray Matters This is a study that covers a wide range of subjects that people may think about (hence the name gray matters – or mind/thought matters/issues). Those who attend suggest topics or issues and each week we explore and discuss how to look at, or respond to, those issues from a Christian perspective. All are always welcome.
