Pontius Pilate is a strange and sad man in history. He is unique in being the only man in all of recorded history with the name Pilate. He is sad in that, history records he was clearly in trouble with Rome; he had been sentenced to eleven years as governor of Judea. (No one else served more than three years.) Ultimately he was sentenced to death by emperor Caligula. Tradition says he committed suicide. Can this man teach us anything useful. Our message will explore that very question.
